April 2, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Irvin Frederick Lazorko. Irvin left us peacefully on April 2, 2025, at the age of 84. He fought a hard battle until his passing on the Palliative Care Unit 3A at the Regina Pasqua Hospital.
Irvin was born on July 6, 1940 in the Wishart district. He lived a life marked by unwavering dedication, kindness, generosity, and a tireless work ethic. A man of steadfast commitment, Irvin enjoyed a long and successful career right up to his final months when he became ill. After graduating in 1958, Irvin began working for SaskPower building electrical lines to small towns and farms in eastern Saskatchewan. In 1965, he transferred from the field to the SaskPower head office in Regina and worked there until April 1973.
Following his resignation from SaskPower, Irvin pursued a career in automotive sales for 51 years, proudly working for Percival Mercury Sales Ltd., and subsequently Capital Ford Lincoln until the age of 84. Selling cars wasn’t just a job for Irvin—it was his passion. He was a trusted colleague and a beloved friend to many. Anyone who would stop in to visit Irvin in his office would be treated to all sorts of candy he kept in his desk, a bag of popcorn from the service department, a cup of coffee or a bottled water. He made sure you would never go hungry or thirsty. He never came empty-handed, and he never let anyone go empty-hearted.
A lifelong gardener, Irvin found joy and purpose in the soil. His garden produced a bountiful crop including cucumbers, potatoes, tomatoes, zucchini and whatever else he could nurture in the ground. Irvin took great pride in giving his garden vegetables to family, friends and just about anyone he met during gardening season. If you knew Irvin, odds are you’ve enjoyed eating some of his home-grown vegetables.
Irvin enjoyed watching sports in his favourite recliner whether it was curling, baseball, football or hockey.
He had a special place in his heart for vintage Mustangs. He loved to collect them, admire them, and of course, talk about them at great length with anyone who’d listen.
Irvin was the master of the barbeque – at home and at work.
Irvin is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen; his two daughters Tracey and Trena; grandsons Jayden and Hunter; along with immediate family, Irvin’s life and memories will be forever cherished by his surviving siblings Myrna Scebinski, Joanne Huber (Gerry), Ernie (Violet) Lazorko, Doreen Ludwar, Eileen (Mike) Schatz, Sharon Kohuch, Gloria Pawliw and D’Arcey Poirier; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and dear friends.
Irvin was predeceased by his parents George and Doris Lazorko; his sisters Georgina Wilson and Loretta Buhnai; his brother Edward Lazorko; brothers-in-law Jerry Scebinski, Bill Buhnai, Al Ludwar and Darryl Pawliw; nephew Riley Pawliw; and niece Nancy Currie.
Irvin gave selflessly to provide for his family and made sure that they were well cared for. He leaves behind a family and community who will miss him deeply and honor his memory always. His presence brought warmth to everyone, and his legacy will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Irvin’s Life will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Conexus Arts Centre, 200 Lakeshore Drive, Regina, SK, which would have been his 85th birthday.
Flowers are gratefully declined. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Palliative Home Care team as well as the staff at the Palliative Care Unit 3A at the Regina Pasqua Hospital. Donations in honour of Irvin can be made to the Regina Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit 3A.

Irvin dealt with my father throughout is his life at Percival and they would banter back and forth. My father passed many years ago but always talked about Irvin and what he did for him in getting a new vehicle every 2 years. He would say that "ol bugger is getting rich off of me!" Now they can banter in the heavens again. He was a good man to my family at Percival.
