April 8, 2025
With heavy hearts we are sad to announce the passing of Henry “Jimmy” Oliver Kulcsar at the William Booth Grace Hospice, Regina, Saskatchewan on April 8, 2025 after a short illness, at the age of 88. Henry was born on a farm near Grayson, Saskatchewan on April 16, 1936.
Henry was predeceased by parents Joseph and Evelyn Kulcsar; and brothers and sisters Andy, Joey, Evelyn, Frankie, Ricky, Rose, Vivian, Donny, and Bernice.
Henry is survived by his loving wife Ammorina (Amy) Kulcsar; his children Josie (Jack) Boychuk and Cindy (Mike) Latham; his grandchildren James (Sheena) Boychuk, Josh (Katie) Boychuk, and Tyler Latham; his great-grandchildren Zepha Boychuk, Claire Boychuk and Carter Boychuk; and his brothers and sisters Steve, Rita, Marianne, Leona, Ralph, Dorothy, and John.
Henry was the second oldest of 17 children and grew up on the farm. He met his wife Amy while she was a one room schoolteacher in the area. She taught his younger brothers and sisters, and Henry would take them to school and pick them up so that he would have a chance to see Amy. They fell in love and were married on October 6, 1958.
Throughout the years Henry had many different jobs. At one point he ran his own business called Henry's Detail Shop, where he cleaned and detailed vehicles. He later sold cars at various car dealerships. After selling cars he did landscaping at condo complexes until he retired. Henry also helped out many people with their yards, loving to till the soil in their gardens until it was fine and soft.
Henry loved working in the yard. His garden and raspberry patch were always so bountiful. His lawn was very lush and one of the greenest on the block. And not one weed. We often said that weeds were scared to grow in his yard.
Henry also took great pride in his vehicle. It was always not only clean, but shiny. He also enjoyed both fishing and ice fishing. Throughout the years he had many different campers and enjoyed getting out of the city and going on camping trips. Working on small engines was a great pastime. He was very talented when it came to getting a small engine to run. Henry touched many lives by helping a neighbor out or giving advice. He always let you know what he really thought about something by saying "in my honest to God opinion".
Family was always the most important thing to Henry. He loved spending time with his grandsons and teaching them new things. He would get very excited when his daughter Josie and her family would come up from Texas to visit. His daughter Cindy lived in town, but he always told her that when family came over to visit it was a good day. He often told us many colorful and humorous stories. He was a great storyteller and when he told you a story, he made you feel like you were there as it happened.
We are all grateful for the loving care by the staff at William Booth Grace Hospice that Henry received in his final days. If anyone so wishes, donations can be made to The Salvation Army William Booth Special Care Home in Henry's honour.
At Henry’s request, a private family graveside service was held at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina, Saskatchewan.

I am so saddened to hear about Henry’s passing. He was such a kind and generous neighbour—always looking out for me and lending a hand whenever I needed help around the yard. I’ll never forget his amazing garden or the way he shared his time and wisdom so freely. I still grow his onions in my own garden! He will be deeply missed. I’m holding you all in my thoughts during this difficult time.
