Helen Diane “Dolly” Currie passed away on October 19, 2023 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Dolly was predeceased by her parents Helen (nee Schell) and Martin Schmidt; her brothers Michael, Danny, Roy, Leonard, Martin and Frank; her sisters Rose, Barbara, Julia, Theresa and Magdalene and all their spouses; niece and nephews Linda, Alan and Randy. She was also predeceased by her in-laws Lilly and Hugh Currie, Pat and Bev. Dolly is survived by her husband Roy and her son John; 12 nieces and 12 nephews....all her favorites; as well as all of Pat's family. She also wanted to mention her close cousins Marlene, Linda, Michael, Ray, Gerald, Garry, Irene, Penny, Cory and George and the many friends we have collected over the years.
Dolly was active in her youth playing softball and continuing into later years with curling and bowling. She had a lifelong adherence to Pilates. She was the youngest of her siblings and the only one born in a hospital. She saw Johnny Cash and George Jones when they toured through Regina in the early years. She had been to the British Isles twice and had numerous vacations in Mexico. She loved camping and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Her whole working career was spent in retail grocery and she ended with 48 years at Safeway.
John and Roy love her and miss her, but her last 3 years were so full of pain for her that her parting was a blessing. We know she is happy now. God Bless her for the wonderful years we had together.
We would like to thank all the staff in Unit 3A in the Pasqua Hospital, Regina, Saskatchewan for all they did for her during her transition. We would also like to show our appreciation to Glenn, Bev, Connie, Diane, Gloria, Judy, Amanda, Christine and Joy who spent time cheering her up.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina Saskatchewan. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in Helen's memory may be made to the Regina Humane Society.

Our deepest sympathy Roy and John. I will always miss Dolly's cheerful attitude, and also being in a tizzy when I happened to show up unannounced before supper the odd time and then running around complaining that she had nothing to feed me, and in moments there was a plate in front of me and I was told to eat. But the time I was finished I was stuffed. And amazing caring person that will be missed by myself and many others. Our thoughts are with you.
