December 15, 2024
Gwendoline (Gwen) Wyatt passed away peacefully on December 15th, 2024, at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Clare; her parents, Freda and Clarence Jefferson; and her brother, Bob. Gwen is lovingly remembered by her brother, Ken Jefferson, and his wife, Rose, as well as their sons, Brent and Kelly (Erin and Mira). She will also be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, and friends near and far.
Gwen was a warm and vibrant soul who cherished her friendships. She had a passion for bowling and spent countless joyful hours with her bowling group, including her devoted companion, Marg Trower, who visited her faithfully over the years. Gwen entrusted Marg with the responsibility of the bowling books, confident they were in capable hands. She will be dearly missed by her Smitty's breakfast bowling group. Known for her quick wit and playful humor, Gwen loved playing jokes on others. Her competitive spirit shone when she discovered the “funny money” rewards at College Park for completing word searches and brain teasers—an opportunity she embraced with enthusiasm, completing them daily.
Gwen loved celebrating special moments with her family and friends. Whether it was New Year’s Eve or her birthday, she enjoyed planning gatherings at the Cottage months in advance.
Gwen lived a rich and fulfilling life. She worked as a proofreader at The Leader-Post before moving to an office position at General Recorders. Growing up on a farm near Livelong, Saskatchewan, Gwen often rode her horse to school, a testament to her adventurous and determined spirit.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Tami Rogers, their goddaughter and Gwen’s special friend, along with Tami’s daughter, Mya, for their tireless care and support during Gwen’s time at College Park 1. Special thanks also go to the compassionate staff at College Park 1, who made Gwen’s final year so comfortable. She especially enjoyed sharing stories and sneaking a few sweets during late evenings with the staff.
Gwen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Until we meet again.
As per Gwen’s request, no formal funeral service will be held. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Remember her & Uncle Ken with their weird dance before they had a drink. I think that dance was what lead to their drinking. Miss you Gwenie, hello Ken & Rosie
