Sisco, Gordon

Gordon Sisco

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Dear Father Gordon Sisco who passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023.

Gordon was predeceased by his loving wife Anne, his son Robert (Bob), his Father Gordon Sr., his Mother Edna and two brothers Ernie and Dennis.

He will be dearly missed and loved forever by his children Garth and Laura Sisco, Cindy and Brian Donison, daughter-in-law Gail (Bob) Sisco, Sharon and Brad Howes, Rod and Carla Sisco, and Noelle and Dan Dickson; 18 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild; his sisters Mel Adams, Bernice Gannon, Hazel Barber and Donna Merrick (Dale) and one brother Leonard Sisco (Lea); and many nieces and nephews.

Dad was born in Wilcox, SK on March 24, 1931, but grew up in Moose Jaw, SK never forgetting his ties to Wilcox where he spent some summer times back on the farm. Dad tried his hand at a few different jobs before the pull of the road won him over and he became a truck driver. While on one of his trips in the truck he met a young girl working in a restaurant and their story began. He drove the highways for many years before an injury put him on leave, bringing him to make the decision to leave the highways in the rear-view mirror. He became a part of the Team at the City of Regina working alongside two of his sons Bob and Rod. Whatever job Dad took on they got 100% of him as he took great pride in a good day’s work. Dad always said he was a shy person, but he really loved meeting people. He had a story for everyone he met. He made many wonderful friends along the way and will be dearly missed by everyone. Dad was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever he was needed!

A Private Graveside Service will be held for Dad on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Regina Memorial Gardens where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Anne.
