Richard “Rick” Dubasov was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan to Alex and Elsie (Cutter) Dubasov on July 29, 1945 and passed away peacefully in his home on January 2, 2024.
Rick was predeceased by his parents, his brother Douglas and his sister Moira. He is survived by his loving wife Donna, daughter Katrina (Evan) and two grandsons Emmett and Liam, his sister Kathy and his brother Rodney and their families.
Rick spent his time tinkering around his house on make-work projects and following the news. He took great pride in his 27-year career at the Consumers Cooperative Refinery in Regina, Saskatchewan and will be remembered for the resulting stories and sarcastic sense of humour.
As per Rick’s request, no funeral service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

Rick was such a gentle caring man. He would always be so patient while waiting for his parts at the Stores window at work (CRS). He would always have a relevant funny story to share to brighten your day. My deepest condolences to the Dubasov family. He was taken too soon.

My deepest condolences to everyone in the family. After moving away for school and career, it was always good to have a quick chat with Rick when I was back. Not sure there was a trip back where we didn’t cross paths on the driveway for at least a few minutes. I’ll miss the chats for sure!

Our condolences to Donna and family, Rick will be greatly missed! I spent a lot of time with him as a young apprentice, to working with him for 14 years, and long after his retirement as I greatly enjoyed our weekly or bi weekly phone calls, reminiscing, solving the world problems and many laughs. I fondly remember our last call just before Christmas discussing the Kamsack Hotel burning down!

My condolences to family. Rick and I went to school together in Kamsack. We were less than a month apart in age. Last time I saw Rick, we met several years ago in Regina in an Ophthalmologist’s office. Had a nice visit then. Rick’s eye problems date way back as in high school his nickname was “Blinky”. In later years I became a teacher at the Kamsack Junior High School and taught his sister and brothers. My condolences to all.
