February 18, 2025
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doug Doyle, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Doug passed away suddenly at the age of 79 on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
Doug was predeceased by his parents Clarence (Corn) and Alma Doyle; his parents-in-law Ken and Veronica Lawrence; his sister Peggy Ann (Dale) Henry; his brother Wayne (Louise) Doyle; and his brother-in-law Robert Hugo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Bonnie Doyle; daughters Jodie (Clayton) Bzdel and Tricia (Scott) Mamchur; his treasured grandchildren Sydney (Christian), Gracie, Aidan, Cale, and Annie; his brother Hugh (Ann) Doyle; and Doug and Bonnie’s beloved dog Marley. He will also be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Born in Lampman, Saskatchewan, Doug was the youngest of four siblings. In 1966, he married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Lawrence. After a brief time in Estevan, Saskatchewan, he and Bonnie moved to Regina, Saskatchewan following the birth of their first daughter, Jodie. Five years later, they welcomed their second daughter, Tricia. Doug was a loving and supportive father, always ready with a joke and a smile. He was later blessed with two wonderful sons-in-law and five beautiful grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.
A skilled meat cutter in Regina for over 50 years, Doug was well known for his strong work ethic and friendly nature. He cherished time spent at the family cabin at Kenosee Lake, first with his parents and siblings, and later with his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
Doug had a gift for conversation and loved nothing more than visiting with family and friends, sharing stories, and making people laugh. He was an active man, enjoying racquetball, curling in the winter, and golfing in the summer. In his later years, Bonnie finally convinced him to join a choir, where he shared his beautiful singing voice with others.
Doug will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain with us. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
We are grateful for the love and memories you shared with Doug. Your presence brings comfort to our family during this difficult time.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina, Saskatchewan. Father Gaspar will be the presiding Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to consider donations in Doug’s memory made to Diabetes Canada or the Kidney Foundation of Canada
