October 21, 2023
Doreen June Doyle passed away peacefully on October 21, 2023 at the age of 87 years in Regina, Saskatchewan after many years living with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Doreen was born on June 7, 1936 to Clyde and Mabel Hart of Brownlee, Saskatchewan. After earning a teacher’s certificate in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Doreen taught primary grades for many years in Southern Saskatchewan towns as well as in Moose Jaw. Later, she taught children with special needs and the primary grades in Regina. Not one child left Doreen’s classroom without learning to read well, as she was passionate about phonics and championed the MKM reading program.
In 1958 Doreen married the love of her life, Paul Edward Doyle. Paul and Doreen were the proud parents of Darcy Doyle, Delaine Johnson (Rhys Renouf), Carole Doyle (Glenn Rolfe) and Dean Doyle. They were also exceptionally loving and generous grandparents to Colin Rolfe, Caitlyn Buchanan (Eugene McPartland), Kirsty Zuck (Christian Zuck), Brett Buchanan (Amanda Schneider) and very proud great-grandparents to Remington Zuck.
Doreen was an amazing woman who shared an abundance of love, inspiration, strength and guidance with her loved ones. She was welcoming to all and always greeted you with a warm hug and the most beautiful smile. She always had a twinkle in her eye, often displayed a witty, sly sense of humour and she had the best one-liners.
Paul and Doreen spent many happy years at their cottage on Lake Diefenbaker, which tended to be a gathering place for friends, family and neighbours. Doreen loved watching the kids have fun at the beach, golfing, gardening, bird watching, reading, playing cards, campfires and she was a tremendous cook and baker. She loved to walk along the beach and enjoy the serenity of the lake.
Doreen was predeceased by her husband Paul; her parents; her brothers Howard, Lyle and Ray Hart; her sisters Muriel Ryan, Evelyn Hart and Deana Rhode; and a special sister-in-law Pat Doyle.
Sincere thanks to all the medical staff and caregivers who took such good care of Mom. Your professionalism, compassion and love you showed toward Mom will never be forgotten.
At Doreen’s request, a funeral service will not be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan.

Darcy, Delaine, Carole and Dean, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I can remember all the good times so many years ago on 6th Avenue and later when your dad used to stop by in Central Butte. I can still hear your mom's voice in my head. Much love to you all. Deb xo

My deepest sympathy to each of Doreen's family. She was a wonderful person, always making time for a visit when she came to Elbow to shop or at the cabin at the lake. I'm sure she and Paul are celebrating being together again.

I will always remember the warm comfort of visits on the deck at the Doyle cottage. Another special memory is Carole’s 40th birthday celebration hosted by Doreen and Paul at their home in Regina.
