October 8, 2023
Donna Marie Balaski, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on October 8, 2023 at the Regina General Hospital, Regina, Saskatchewan. She had been in declining health for the past several years.
Donna was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan on August 28, 1951 to Mike and Mary Balaski. She is survived by her mother Mary Balaski of Regina; her sisters Linda (Jack) Bair of Alexandria, Pennsylvania and Sharon (Ken) Ullestad of Regina and three nephews who had a special place in her heart Jeremy (Michelle) Bair of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, Justin (Darla) Bair of Bolsburg, Pennsylvania and Jonathan (Danielle) Bair of Kelowna, British Columbia; as well as several aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. Donna was predeceased by her father Mike and a half-brother Allan.
Donna enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was especially fond of knitting baby blankets and gifting them to friends with newborn babies. She also enjoyed watching cooking shows on the Food Network and collecting cookbooks. Donna loved her coffee and she could frequently be found at the Food Court at the local Mall drinking coffee with her coffee buddies. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Donna cherished her personal relationship with her loving heavenly father Jehovah God and looked forward to the fulfillment of the Bible promise recorded at Revelation 21:4, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
Donna was an active member of the Cityview Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Regina.
A special thank you goes out to the nursing staff of Unit 6F and the ICU of the Regina General Hospital, as well as the Home Care staff for their kind and compassionate care of Donna.

To Mary, Sharon, Linda and Family. It is sad to hear the news of Donna. Growing up, you and your families were always apart of our lives. (Coronation Park Congregation) My parents and I were together with yours for many years- book study and service. Good memories. She will be truly missed!

Dear Mary, Sharon, Linda and families. Thinking of Donna and the many many times she endured Saturday morning service with “the Seib” family! Coffee breaks at Arby’s, she loved the curly fries.. sweating to the oldies with Richard Simmons …visits at the Northgate Mall. She was a big part of our life for many years. A faithful sister we will remember, confident Jehovah will too.

Many years ago we were in same congregation as Donna. Then I went to Peru. She will have many waiting for her in the resurrection. Our heart goes out to the family.

Foremost among my childhood memories are the many visits with our "Regina Relatives". You all coming to our farm. Our trips to Regina to the eye specialist, the annual back to school shopping trip to the Bargain Center and Army & Navy. Donna was an integral part of all those gatherings, always deeply concerned about other's welfare. Her life of loyal love for Jehovah set a fine example. We send you our love and sympathy.

I am particularly sorry for your loss Mary, Linda and Sharon. There is some comfort in the thought that Jehovah the almighty, creator of the universe feels the same void in his heart as we do right now. Donna was my oldest cousin, and I learned a lot from her example. She had the biggest and purest heart of anyone I knew. She kept her integrity to the end, may the rest of us do the same.

I fondly remember Donna from our visits with my mom Helen (Balaski) and dad Bruce. Mom is in memory care and doesn't remember anyone, or he would also send her condolences. I am saddened to hear of her passing. Sending love and ((hugs)), from far-flung cousins in the US.
