October 7, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Brett on October 7. 2023 at the age of 31 years old due to an accidental overdose.
Brett was predeceased by his grandparents Herb and Blanche Dixon and Joseph and Muriel de Cruyenaere. Brett is survived by his parents Greg and Barb de Cruyenaere; his sister Ashley; nephew Jayden; aunts Sue de Cruyenaere and Bev Bucca; cousins Joseph, Michael, Elena and their families.
Brett was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan where he had a good childhood. He tried all sports but liked hockey the best. He loved his family and his cats (he rescued many) and his many friends, including the ones he lost so early.
Even though he had the support of his loving family, his drug addiction would follow him to his untimely passing.
We would like to add a special thank you to all his sports coaches (especially hockey), social workers, the police, EMT’s and especially the nurses and doctors at both hospitals for the work they put in over the years.
There will be a private family gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Brett’s memory may be made to the Regina Humane Society or Diabetes Canada.
