It is with a heavy heart that I learned of Al's passing. Although we had lost touch after his return to Canada, I always cherished our friendship, his mentorship, his passion for teaching, and our graduate days at SFU. May his soul rest in peace, but may his impact live on. To Darlene and his family, my belated condolences.
