Obituaries

It is with great sadness that the family of Alfred (Al) Bens announces his passing on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Al was born in Moose Jaw, SK on April 22, 1935.

Al grew up working on the family farm. This work ethic served him well in his many occupations as an adult. Whether it was working in construction, cutting hair at a barber shop, or planting trees as part of Queen City Tree Service, Al mastered every task with success. Regina is a more beautiful place because of the trees Al planted.

Al had a natural affinity for music, playing his guitar and singing in several choirs throughout his life. We will miss his wry sense of humor and his belief that everything tastes better with butter, even shortbread cookies!

Al leaves behind his wife Marie; two sons Calvin (Leslie) and Ken (Angela); six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, with two more expected later this year.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for their compassionate care and support for Al and the entire family.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Spring of 2024 with details to be announced at a later date.
