It is with deep sorrow that the family of Shirley Boyer announce her passing on Valentine’s Day (February 14, 2025) at the Regina Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit due to complications from pneumonia. She was surrounded by her family and friends.
Shirley is survived by her son Kenneth (Ken) Boyer (Joli Bauer and her son Steve Bauer (Christina) and family); granddaughter Krysta Boyer; grandson Myles Boyer; her brother Dennis (Margaret) Burke; nephew Joshua (Josh) Burke; her brother Ralph Burke; nephews Dustin Burke and Ryley Pederson and family; great-nieces Justine Connor (Ogilvie) and family, Bailey Cozart (Ogilvie) and family, and great-nephew Clay (C.J.) Ogilvie and family; nephew-in-law Clay Ogilvie.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband Donald (Don) Boyer; parents Alex Burke and Mary Burke (Kolodziejsky); niece Jodie Ogilvie (Burke); as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, including her aunt Victoria (Vicky) Tuttosi (Kolodziejsky) and first cousin Anton (Tony) Burkesty, both formerly of Outlook, Saskatchewan.
Shirley was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1943. She spent her early life in the nearby towns of Outlook and Broderick, Saskatchewan with her parents and siblings. Later she married Don Boyer and relocated to the Northwest Territories. Don and Shirley owned and operated a successful ice road construction and oilfield services company in Hay River, Northwest Territories for many years. She also had careers in agriculture extension, banking, library services and healthcare. She finally retired to Regina in 2023 and spent many happy hours with family, and new and old friends. Shirley visited her family and childhood friends in Outlook throughout her entire adult life and enjoyed travelling the world. She loved animals and contributed to numerous animal shelters.
Shirley will be forever missed as a loving mother and grandmother, wonderful sister, and a loyal friend to many.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hay River Animal Shelter, Regina Humane Society, or an animal shelter or rescue of your choice.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Summer of 2025 and interment of cremation urn will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Memorial Catholic Cemetery in Broderick/Outlook, Saskatchewan.

So sorry for your loss. Shirley was a close friend as we went to High school in Broderick and Outlook together. We lost touch for many years but reconnected a few years back. I know she will have left a huge hole in your lives.
