Hubick, Lyle Walter

October 28, 2025

Lyle Walter Hubick

In loving memory of our beloved husband and father Lyle Walter Hubick who left us in the early hours of October 28, 2025 after a courageous battle with kidney disease.

Lyle is survived by his wife Brenda; his children Christine (Dustin) and Chris; his brothers Garth (Debbie) and Mervin (Georgina); his sister Karen; sister-in-law Donna (Dave); brothers-in-law Doug (Shellie) and Bryan (Shari); and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is met in heaven by his mother Gertie (Chervinski) and father Walter (Hubick); mother and father-in-law Lauretta and Harvey Bell; his sister Merle; and his grand-dog Green Beans.

Lyle was raised in Regina, SK where he met his childhood sweetheart and wife of 47 years Brenda. They were 12 when they first met, but soon Lyle was riding his bike across the city to visit Brenda. Later when he got his license he would take her out for eggrolls and to go cruising Albert Street. As they grew together, they enjoyed going to stampede wrestling and camping trips to B.C. Later camping trips with the kids are fondly remembered as well as a trip to Las Vegas with Donna and Dave in 2013.

He worked at the Co-operators for 30 years and highly valued the friends he made there.

He took great pride in keeping his grass and vehicles in immaculate condition and helping his friends and family with home maintenance and renovation projects. He could fix anything from broken toys to repairing rust on his old truck. Most recently he had helped Chris renovate his bathroom and build a shed. He showed he cared by helping. He was always by Brenda's side to help her care for her mother in her final years and was at Lauretta's side at the time of her passing.

His love for wrestling never ended, and it was usually on the TV if you were visiting. He loved to tease and joke around. He could talk to anyone, especially if it was about hunting. He found particular joy in retiring and would spend his days putzing in the yard, then relaxing in a chair in the sun on the driveway, or on the deck with his wife.

He will be deeply missed but will continue to live in our hearts and make us laugh from the cherished memories we have shared.

A heartfelt thanks to all who offered their love and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Kidney Foundation or share a memory of Lyle with friends and family.

A Private Service to Celebrate Lyle’s Life will be held at a later date.
