Vicenzino, Doloris

Doloris Vicenzino, age 61, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 14, 2026. Doloris was a strong person with a sweet and gentle soul.
Doloris was predeceased by her parents Arpinio and Alancita Vicenzino; her sisters Rosanna Ready and Zamira Vicenzino-Heth; and nephew Eric McRae.
Doloris is survived by her brothers Romano Vicenzino and Giovanni Vicenzino; brother-in-law Darcy Ready (Sandi); her sisters Maria McRae (Brian) and Rita Geiger (Mark); and brother-in-law Wayne Heth. Doloris leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States, and extended family in Italy and Australia.
Doloris, as a person with Down syndrome, attended the Jean Vanier School for people with developmental disabilities. With her fierce determination she was able to learn many academic and important life skills. Doloris received much recognition for her 11 years of employment with the Sask. Ability Council. Followed by awards for her 15 years of employment with the Cosmopolitan Learning Centre.
Doloris’ employments combined with the teachings from the devoted Catholic Sisters of the Jean Vanier school enabled Doloris to gain independence from her parents. During her final years, Doloris resided in Regina’s Clare Parker Homes at the McGuigan Home where she experienced interdependent community living and activities.
Doloris had many interests and talents. Doloris delighted in playing for bowling leagues, attending dances and she loved knitting and croqueting. Doloris enjoyed participating in Special Olympics, Camp Easter Seal, Harvest Community Inc. and Camp Grizzly.
Private Celebration of Doloris’ Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations in honor of Doloris may be made to Camp Easter Seal or Harvest Community Inc. Camp Grizzly.

In Loving Memory of Doloris
I first met Doloris in 2014 at Cosmo Learning Centre, and I was lucky enough to spend seven years getting to know her there. Four years later, our paths crossed again at Clare Parker Homes, and I was incredibly fortunate to become her Home Coordinator on June 1, 2026 and were able to spend more time together.
Doloris was one of a kind and became a person that everyone wanted to know. She had such a spunky attitude, a strong sense of independence, and a confidence that never went unnoticed. She lived life on her own terms and was determined to make her own choices. She was such a strong lady, and she fought so hard right until the end.
Her resilience, strength and confidence are what I will carry with me and remember most about DD. 🩷
Doloris, watch over us all, take care of us, and know that we will always carry you in our days and memories. Until we meet again someday. ❤️
