November 1, 2025

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Abe Loewen on November 1, 2025 at the age of 76. Abe struggled with Muscular Dystrophy for many years, with the last several years being the hardest.
Abe was born September 23, 1949 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his parents Abe and Katherine Loewen and his brother Bill Loewen. Abe is survived by his wife Lynne; his children Peter (Carianne), Chris, Tim (Kendra) and his beloved grandsons Zander and Kaleb; his sister Elizabeth (Tony) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Abe moved to Regina, Saskatchewan right after high school graduation in 1967 and worked with Hudson Bay Wholesale until starting Queen City Performance in 1974. He owned the business 45 years and sold in 2018.
Abe’s passion was drag racing which he was very successful at winning many races. He was inducted into the Canadian Drag Racing Hall of Fame. He had the honor of being selected to his high school Melfort Composite High Wall of Fame. He was always very modest about his accomplishments.
He enjoyed in his retirement the Tuesday morning coffee group in his garage. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and especially his grandsons.
No service will be held.

My sincere condolences to the entire Loewen family and friends on the passing of Abe. I have known him since shortly after he opened his first shop. He was a true legend around the streets of Regina. A true friend who always made time to lend you a hand or give you advise with your automotive projects. I will always be grateful for his help and support. Rest easy my old friend.

Sad to hear of Abe’s passing. My condolences to the family. He was always helpful and patient with me in the early 80’s when I was still in high school hot rodding my truck. He would chat motocross with me and help me out with shop stuff I couldn't do. Great memories. Good times.
