Dave Quest

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Dave Quest on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the age of 65 years. Dave passed away at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, Saskatchewan with his family at his side after a two-week battle from an unexpected illness.

Dave was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was born on October 26, 1958 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to his loving parents Leonard and Phyllis Quest.

He is survived by his devoted wife Sandy; children Taylor and Jordan (Megan); precious grandson Wells; as well as his siblings Doug (Jane) Quest, Barb Ryan, and Cindy Laporte; and many nieces and nephews. Dave's legacy of love and compassion will live on through each member of his family whom he treasured beyond measure.

Dave's warm smile and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His love for spending time with family and friends was evident in every aspect of his life. Whether it was gathering around a campfire, golfing, biking, or embarking on adventures to Huatulco, Mexico with his wife Sandy, Dave always found joy in creating lasting memories with those he held dear. Dave found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was happiest with his toes in the sand, surrounded by family and friends, and spending time at Katepwa Lake, Saskatchewan where laughter and love were always in abundance. His passion for fishing led him to many peaceful mornings at Windrum Lake, Saskatchewan where he would patiently wait for the catch of the day.

Dave also loved to sing and play guitar. His impromptu concerts were the highlight of many gatherings, filling the air with all his favourite songs. A man of many talents, Dave was always ready to lend a hand with projects, big or small. His generosity knew no bounds, and he found fulfillment in helping others. Huatulco held a special place in Dave’s heart. It was his paradise away from home, a place where he could unwind and create lasting memories with friends.

A Celebration of Dave's Life will take place on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Regina Delta Hotel, 1919 Saskatchewan Drive, Regina, Saskatchewan (parking available in the adjacent parkade) where friends and loved ones can come together to honor the impact he made during his time here on earth.

The world has lost an extraordinary soul whose presence illuminated every room he entered. May we find solace in knowing that while our hearts ache from this loss, we carry within us the light that Dave brought into our lives forevermore.

The family encourages anyone with a story, picture, or other memory of Dave, to send them to s.quest@sasktel.net. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations in Dave’s memory may be made to MS Canada.

To Sandy and family, we are so saddened to hear about the passing of Dave. He’s been a great friend since elementary school. Also a good friend with Kim through working for SGI for many years. He was such a fun and kind soul, always smiling and laughing. Dave and I had similar interests like guitar, golfing and fishing. A highlight for me was being able to teach Jordan guitar lessons, but I’m sure he learned a lot from Dave as well as he was a fantastic player himself. Always in a good mood and happy all the time. He will be missed by the many friends that he had. Our hearts and prayers go out to the entire family as we send our sympathies and condolences. Kim and Russ Oberthier!!
